Liner Notes

Inspired by the "Jam Session" albums produced by Norman Granz in the '40s, this EP is a product of a series of multitracked jam sessions between Noah Pettibon’s cohorts in the South Sound jazz scene. The eponymous “garage” is the unassuming location of Colby Jackson’s home studio in Tacoma. To tie a bow on the historical reference, Tilda Armstrong’s improvisatory pencil sketch over a rich, spontaneity-inspiring yellow background evokes the legendary jazz cover art of David Stone Martin.

The rhythm section comprises Noah’s fellow alumni of Central Washington University, Tacoma native Kacey Evans on piano, North Bend bassist Nate Sharp, and brand creator and producer of small batch, handmade, single source “Jazz Farm Coffee” Greg Williamson on drums.
